VHM Carbon Frame:
This frame was designed and developed using Very High Modulus carbon fibre. This choice of material assures that it will have excellent stiffness and durability while keeping weight to a minimum. The front triangle is 100% monocoque carbon construction and the rear triangle is composed of carbon tubes joined by the dropouts and forged aluminium linkages.

Geometry:
The geometry of the bike was developed taking into consideration the latest generation of suspended forks offering between 80 and 100 mm of travel. The steering and seat angles are compatible with both fork travel distances. The 996 thus offers a very aggressive position for XC competition when fitted with a fork with 80 to 85 mm of travel.

Pivot and Linkage Reliability:
All the linkages are equipped with oversized aluminium pivots and mounted with race proven ENDURO sealed cartridge bearings. It was imperative that we focused on the quality of the bearings and linkages to ensure that the suspension functions flawlessly, without any particular required maintenance and for maximum durability.

“Nano Metal” Protection:
The diagonal tube is reinforced with metallic nanoparticles that increase the resistance to impacts by more than 60% without added weight.

A.S.K. : Anti Squat Kinematics:
LOOK’s rear suspension kinematics is of the “virtual pivot” type. It delivers the advantage of mechanically countering the compression of the shock induced by pedalling and chain tension: an extremely efficient “anti-bobbing” effect. All the while, the suspension remains sensitive and always active regardless of the terrain. As a result, it is not necessary to lock-out the suspension even if this one is equipped with a lock out shock unit. Accelerations are always prompt and efficient even with the suspension 100% active over its full range of travel.
